I have 15 years experience in and around the fitness and nutrition industry and have gained a considerable amount of knowledge and expertise through these years.
I have trained alongside more experienced fitness members such as body builders and athletes. I have also engaged in self-development through studying level 2 and 3 personal training qualification with Health science academy.
My main goal is to make sure you experience good education inside and outside the gym, helping you to create new habits and become stronger, fitter and a healthier and overall a positive you.

I met Ben in August 2018 having spent the previous four years focusing on competitive bike racing (including time trialling and road racing). I decided to turn my attention towards trying to see real improvements in strength, lean muscle mass and the reduction of body fat; aspects of training which surprisingly I had not really focused a great deal on before. I knew that gaining the advice, support and knowledge from a personal trainer was going to be essential in achieving these new goals.
Ben was very approachable from the first time I met him, and he took the time to listen and understand my ambitions and future aspirations. He planned a training regime that consisted of a weekly programme of three one-hour sessions which included strength and conditioning work, supersets and HIIT. These sessions have always been flexible and have been amended to fit the current goals I am working towards (I change my mind quite a lot, so this includes my latest focus which is indoor rowing!). Working with Ben has brought a fresh perspective to my training, making it interesting and fun, and he constantly encourages me to work harder than I thought possible. Ben brings a huge amount of energy to every PT session which motivates me to work outside of my comfort zone. He has demonstrated through his expert knowledge and understanding what is possible when you have the correct guidance and advice, especially regarding the importance of good form to avoid injury and get the most out of every workout (being told I squatted one-sided and had muscular imbalances from years of quad dominated cycling was definitely an eye-opener!).
The most impressive aspect of working with Ben is that he shows as much dedication to my goals as I do. He’s been an inspiration – even outside of the specific PT sessions, he’s taken time to share advice on nutrition and recovery, assisted with MyZone heart rate training and he’s never let me give anything less than 100%. I always finish a session knowing I have achieved all goals set and given maximum effort. Leaving a workout feeling like every muscle has been targeted, but in an effective and safe way, shows the effort was put in and will be rewarded. As for rewards, the current strength training regime which has focused on leg power and endurance to enhance my rowing, has contributed to me achieving silver in the 2K at the British Indoor Rowing Championships (September 2021) and PBs across 5K and 6K distances. I cannot thank Ben enough for his support; he is incredibly hard working and the commitment he gives to his own training is reflected in the way he encourages his clients to work as hard as possible to achieve their own goals.
If you are considering whether it would be beneficial to invest in a personal trainer, my advice would be – definitely! I have not looked back: the key ingredients for success are consistency and working hard. Having a personal trainer will help you to progress, regardless of your starting point.

We have received personal training from Ben, Covid permitting, for over a year. He is knowledgeable, motivating and most importantly sensitive to our aims, given our physical limitations and age.
We have been given advice on our diet and as a result our visceral fat has reduced.
As well as all the physical benefits of increasing fitness and strength there is the additional psychological boost to our self-esteem and we have had fun.
